Tim Smith is a seasoned defense trial lawyer with decades of U.S. and international dispute resolution experience.  He has personally tried 25 U.S. lawsuits to jury verdict, managing and ultimately leading several U.S. national litigation coordination counsel programs for several Fortune 500 companies.  In addition, Tim has appeared pro hac vice in individual product, vehicle warranty and/or class-action lawsuits venued in 28 states of the United States, and has taken or defended technical, medical and board-level “apex” management depositions in the United Kingdom, Germany, France and 35 American states plus the District of Columbia.

Tim has been listed in the Expert Guide to the World’s Leading Product Liability Lawyers, and the International Who’s Who of Product Liability Defense Lawyers every year from 2009-2018.  While his primary focus was always product-related work, Tim also handled a broad spectrum of defense litigation matters, including those in the construction industry, the trucking and armored carrier businesses, and in the professional liability arena.

Tim also has extensive dealing with complicated global data privacy matters – having supervised dozens of massive-scale, cross-border data collection, review, redaction and production projects for several multinational companies, and having testified as an EU/GDPR/global data security and privacy law expert in several U.S. class action lawsuits.

In 2017, Tim recorded, produced, and released his own solo Country Rock album.  That EP made it into the iTunes Charts in Europe, and one of Tim’s songs played in rotation on several German country and pop radio stations during the summer of 2017.  He and his band were invited to perform live on the popular German talk show “RNF-LIFE” in June 2017.  Tim ultimately won a 2017 German Country Music “New Artist” Award, and four 2017 German Pop & Rock Awards (including the coveted “Best English-Language Song – All Genres”).
