BIOGRAPHY

Practice Areas
Eric is chair of Wolfe & Wyman’s Labor and Employment group. For over 35 years, he has represented clients in all aspects of civil litigation including mediations and arbitrations, court and jury trials, and appeals. In litigation matters, Eric represents employers in lawsuits involving allegations of wrongful termination, sexual harassment, discrimination, retaliation, violation of leave laws, invasion of privacy, and other matters related to this area of practice. He has successfully defended numerous employers in “collective action” claims, and wage and hour class action matters. In addition, he prosecutes and defends trade secret actions against former employees and competitors. He has also represented defendants in various Professional Liability matters. Eric has extensive experience handling these matters in state and federal courts, as well as before the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing, the California Labor Commissioner’s Office, the California Unemployment Insurance Appeals Board, the United States Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and the National Labor Relations Board. In addition to litigating labor and employment matters, Eric serves as employers’ counsel and provides training to the firm’s employer clients in the areas of wage and hour law compliance, employee classification, independent contractors, discrimination and harassment, including sexual harassment, and discrimination and harassment based on age, race, disability, gender and sexual orientation..

A significant segment of Eric's practice also focuses on counseling clients about leave issues, terminations, reductions in force ("RIFs") and layoffs. He develops, prepares and reviews clients’ personnel policy manuals, employee and supervisor handbooks, arbitration, confidentiality and nondisclosure agreements, personnel policies and procedures (including drug testing, and polygraphing) for compliance with OFCCP, EEO, and wage-and-hour- laws; as well as issues involving workplace violence.

Eric enjoys reading, political and presidential history, travel, wine collecting, attending wine and culinary events, attending concerts for a variety of artists and orchestras, and participating in charitable walks.
